The Importance of Self Care

Take care of yourself.

What kind of world would this be if everyone was taught to and actually took good care of themselves. Taking care of yourself should be a science. It is a science.  We move so fast throughout the day, on a daily basis, that we tend to overlook checking in with ourselves. It’s when we check in with ourselves, we are able to tune in with the mind and body so when needed we are able to identify what’s the matter with us or what affecting us, be it positive or negative. We’ve lost this connection with ourselves. An in this process we can get stuck in the cycle of sickness. Sickness of the body, mind and spirit.

We all at one point or another experience, be it ourselves or simply those that are closest to us cycles of sickness and healing throughout our life’s journey. However, our bodies are designed to last us a lifetime. It is so important that we do our best to take care so we can live and move through life as our best selves.

Mindful living through what we feed the body….

We feed the body not only through food intake but through what we watch with our eyes and listen with our ears on a daily basis. What is feeding the mind and body is also feeding your spirit. Which is who we truly are.

“If you take care of your car it will take care of you.” ~ My Dad

I have learned the same goes for the body. When you take care of your body it will respond in a way that will alert you to emotions, illness, and things in your space that can affect your well being.

Starting to be more aware of how you take care of yourself can be intimidating in the beginning. Purpose is what will keep you on your path. Simply put….this is your health. This is your quality of life. This determines your ability in how you move through life.  So don’t take it lightly. Taking care of your health is not just for you. It’s is for those that are around you that are effected just as you are if not even more. Just something to think about.

Until next time...

Peace and flow...
